Hørning Maskinfabrik A/S has recently delivered and made test run for the above plant foi heat sterilization at Bulrush Horticulture in Northern Ireland, owned by the danish company Pindstrup Mosebrug A/S.

The plant is used for heat sterilization of mould for removal of unwanted weeds seeds etc. As Hørning Maskinfabrik A/S not earlier had delivered drying drums for the purpose of this, the plant was, to be on the safe side, dimensioned for a capacity at 12 m3 per hour. At the test run it was reached a capacity at 30 m3 per hour of mould heated up to more than 60 deQrees Celsius.

The plant consist of a 5 m3 hopper with frequency regulated belt feeder, a 8 m belt conveyor which bring the materials to a screw conveyor with inclined screw blades. screwing the materials into the drying drum. The isolated drum is inside ø 1200 mm in diameter and 9 m long. As isolating is used 100 mm mineral wool, covered with galvanized steel plate. As heating is used a Weishaupt boiler burning natural gas. From the drum the materials goes to a 15 m stock piling conveyor, and by the outlet is mounted infra-red temperature measurement connected to the automatic panel for the boiler.

The plant was delivered ready for use with waterproof cupboards containing the automatic panel for the boiler and the electric equipment for the motors, and cabling with plugs.
